First Community Goal - SUCCESS! 8 Mega Creds!

So after a few days contributing Non-lethal weapons to a charity drive community goal (Protecting against the Elements) I got this success message in my Transactions screen.

I had spent around 5 days travelling doing 40-70 Light Year trips to High Tech worlds to find full 236T of Non-Lethal weapons and transporting them back to Lombardelli's Legacy.  I had a couple of run - ins with pirate players but even though they managed to strip off my shields I escaped and immediately jumped to another system to avoid being Interdicted again.

When in Lombardelli's legacy I was initially confused as to how to participate after signing up...I though there would be a way to deliver the weapons to the community goal. In fact all you need to do is sell the weapons on the commodities market. Doh!

When I returned after the goal was complete I was able to complete to and gain CR 8,000,000 (see screenshot below)

And best bit was I'd earned a few million selling the weapons too!

Keen to see what the global rewards were too.

Sweet!

Post Commander Hyford heads to Imperial Space and has trouble Identifying Pirates

Having reached the final Federal Rank of Post Commander with a series of fearsome kill missions (pirate hunts) I have headed to Imperial Space and obtained the first rank of Outsider in an ascension mission. Here is a picture of the Python in Blue Loadout to avoid being confused with Pirates.

I found while hunting pirates for Imperial companies in systems without any authority there would often be strong signal sources which turned out to be fire fights between bounty hunters and pirates (and/or Authority vessels). It was difficult to distinguish the pirates who scanned as clean due to not having a local wanted status. They would often be sporting red pirate colours and would also have single names. The bounty hunters tended to have two names and would sometimes tell me to move along. Not wishing to shoot 'innocent' bounty hunters I would sometimes wait until a pirate vessel said something suspicious like "What do you carry...".

Signal Sources

Signal sources seem to often indicate what you may find when dropping out of Frame Shift. I will add things to this list as I see more instances.

Weak Signal Sources
  • So far it has always been canisters of salvage
  • In my last Federal mission I did come across some canisters which were a trick
Strong Signal Sources
  • Large convoys of (heavy ships) e.g. 3 or 4 T7s some T9s
  • Loads of Gold canisters that upon investigation turn out to be a trap (last time 4 Anacondas!!!)
  • Firefights between bounty hunters and pirates and/or Authority vessels (6 or more ships often)

Unidentified Signal Sources
  • Sometimes larger groups such as Wedding or Funeral barges plus their escorts.
  • Mineral Magpies or other such trading T9s seeking products
  • Other ships, Pirates, bounty hunters, system authority in any combination or all three!
  • Mission updates (e.g. narrowing down the location of a kill mission target or an attempt to alter a deleivery or purchase mission)
